Why Do Porn Sites Have Social Media Sharing Buttons?

Seriously, why?

Let’s say ‘X’ visits a porn website for obvious reason and Now, Let’s say i am ‘X’, if that is the case, i would never ever notice that there are social media sharing buttons while watching something that takes all my attention.

But there are some people who might notice these buttons. Even if they find the buttons, by any chance, are they going to share it on their social networking accounts like Facebook, Twitter or Google+? No, In general case.

I mean, who would want to share porn on social networking site? that’s a social suicide.

But, Some people don’t reveal their real identity on internet, so they can share whatever they want to. So, possibilities of clicking on social sharing buttons are there but the proportion is very less.

Have you ever visited a porn website via a referral link on any of the social networking website?, Either we go via direct URL or we Google it. (No offense meant)

Porn websites get minimum amount of referral traffic via social networking websites.

So, why? why do they do this to all those people who are either boozed up or not good with their other hand to accidentally share porn on their social networking profile and lose friends and hurt their reputation as well.

Here’s why, If you are logged in, Social media sharing buttons can be used to track you even if you do not click on them, which is ultimately used for better advertisement targeting.

It is better either you log out from all your social networking accounts or use safe browsing option of your browser while watching porn.
